BUY PRINTS TO SUPPORT EDUCATION IN CHINA

Overseas China Education Foundation (OCEF), registered in Texas and granted by IRS as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit charity organization, is dedicated to help less-privileged children in rural areas of China to finish their education up to 9th grade.
Due to social and historical reasons, millions of school-age children in vast rural areas of China are still struggling for a chance to receive basic education. Local government and parents are too poor to help. Your care and generosity will help these children to get the basic reading and writing skills with which they need to push themselves out of ignorance and poverty.
All proceeds will be used to help needy children. The supporting money is sent to each supported school directly from OCEF and delivered to students at an open conference attended and monitored by OCEF's volunteering coordinators in China.

Dear friends, the organization OCEF provides the opportunity to sponsor primary and senior school students in rural "9th world" (third world county, third poorest province, and the third poorest area in the province). It costs 50$ to sponsor a primary student and 120$ to support a senior school student for one year. Please, I am begging you to do something for these students who desperately need education and education materials. This is something small you can do to make a huge difference in some child's life. Please contact me at my gmail address, cammiebrennan@gmail.com or see http://www.ocef.org/newocef/en/ for more information. The following are pictures of the school, school grounds, dormitories and the students. By sponsoring one you can receive a report of the school and student and correspondence with the student if you wish. Please do something. Please.

Kites etc.......

I am back.....kind of....I can post and then check through a anonymous browser (thanks to Chris B.). So, here is the latest news....
I've been trying eastern medicine. I've been having a lot trouble sleeping so my doctor has prescribed to me a mix of herbs he calls "happy tea", he has me soaking my feet in yellow wine every night (better than drinking the nasty stuff), then taping a paste of herbs and vinegar to a pressure point on my foot. He says all my "yang has gone to (my) head" and that's why i can't sleep at night. I didn't know whether to slap him or thank him. No one has ever told me that before. And he has given me "ear seeds" which means, no i am not growing new ears, but that little black seeds have been taped onto pressure points on my ears--i have to "stimulate" them 5 times daily....Jackie won't be seen with me when I am doing this (its just pushing on the seeds)--she says its too scandalous. Progress with sleeping has been happening, little by little, despite the odd circumstances.

I went kite flying on Sunday (under protest, as usual for anything that's remotely perky) with Jackie, Heidi, James, Si Si and some other friends. After walking around for hours looking for an appropriate place, and we found a completely inappropriate spot on a bridge over the lake. Due to my inability to tie knots I lost both kites into the lake. ...sad sad day.

-kite in the lake
-sad day

jackie, as she is always so good to me, threw me a great party for my birthday....the pics are a little late, but, deal with it. also, in my blogging absence Andrew and Kristen came to visit and it was amazing!!

Welcome...nothing to say yet, but being that Xanga has been blocked by China, I've been desperately needing an outlet for weeks. Please keep it on the dl though, let's keep it between people we love. Peace (and leave me welcome notes!)
